- Details of Disappearance:
- In December 1955, a woman named Capps disappeared in Colorado. She was last seen with a man named Quillin. They’d been drinking and were turned away from a couple of cafes. Quillin said they later crashed their car in the snow. He claimed he left to get help, and when he returned, Capps was gone.
Police didn’t believe Quillin’s story; he failed a lie detector test. He later changed his story, saying Capps had a heart attack. Capps needed heart medication, so it’s unlikely she survived long on her own.
Despite a big search, Capps was never found. Quillin died in 1992 without ever being charged with anything. The mystery of what happened to Capps remains unsolved.
