- On June 3, 1986, Standly was released from jail in Modesto, California after serving a two-week sentence for drugs. She called her family to say her boyfriend was picking her up. Her family didn’t know this boyfriend at all—they’d never met him and didn’t even know his name. That was the last time anyone saw Standly.
