Her nickname is Terry and some agencies may spell her first name “Theresa” and her last name “Alfonzo,” or refer to her as Terri Riggs.
- Details of Disappearance:
- On August 20, 1974, Teresa and her friend Cynthia were dropped off at a movie theater in Marathon, Florida. They planned to hitchhike to a party but disappeared.
Because Cynthia sometimes disappeared for a few days, police first thought the girls had run away. But Teresa was shy and had no history of running away; her family was sure she wouldn’t have left on her own. Police now think something bad happened to them.
Teresa’s family still lives in the area and continues to search for her. She was a student at Stanley Switlik Elementary School at the time. Sadly, the police files on their disappearance were destroyed in a fire, and the case remains unsolved.
