- Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian female. Reddish-blonde hair, blue/hazel eyes. Tiffani’s hair was naturally curly at the time of her 1977 disappearance. She has a surgical scar extending from behind her hairline to the back of her head as the result of a 1975 operation. Tiffani may be using the last names Iwokin, Beer or Casner. She resembled her father, Claude Wise, at the time of her abduction. Some agencies may spell her first name “Tiffany.”
- Details of Disappearance:
- On March 30, 1977, Brandi and her older half-sister, Tiffani, were abducted from their San Bernardino, California home. Their mother, Beverly, was found murdered. Their eight-month-old sister was unharmed.
Witnesses saw a man who looked like Brandi’s father, Roy Summers, putting Tiffani in a gold car. Roy had a history of violence against his wives (he’d been married seven times). Police initially didn’t suspect him, but later changed their minds.
After the abduction, there were unconfirmed reports of Roy and the girls in several states. In 1979, Roy was arrested in Oregon. Pictures of the girls and their belongings were found in his home.
Several other people were also arrested and charged in connection with the case:
* **Juanita “Tiny” Iwakiri:** Accused of helping Roy hide the girls in her daycare. Convicted in Tiffani’s case, but the conviction was overturned.
* **Lee Allan Casner:** Charged as an accessory to the murder and kidnappings.
* **Karen Carino (Roy’s sister):** Charged as an accessory after the girls were reportedly seen at her home. The outcomes of Casner and Carino’s charges are unknown.Roy was eventually arrested for assaulting his wife, Connie Kohler, violently. Though convicted of assault, he was never tried for Beverly’s murder or the girls’ kidnapping because key witness testimonies, obtained through hypnosis, were ruled inadmissible in court.
Brandi was small for her age. She called her grandmother “Big Grandma” and her grandfather “Dick.”
To this day, Brandi and Tiffani are still missing.
