- In 2000, truck driver Robert Angell disappeared. He worked hauling goods between Canada and the US. After delivering bananas from Calgary to Los Angeles, he was supposed to return, but vanished.
His truck was found abandoned at Whiskey Pete’s casino in Nevada. His wallet was inside, but all the cash was gone. Someone used his ATM card to withdraw his entire paycheck shortly after he was last seen.
A waitress remembers serving him breakfast on the morning of September 23rd. He seemed unwell, asking for help. Angell liked to gamble at Whiskey Pete’s, and had told his family he was quitting his trucking job after one last trip. There were unconfirmed reports of him being seen in Texas a year later.
Police think he might have disappeared on his own, possibly because of his health or desire for a career change. His wife divorced and remarried, but kept her number in case he ever contacted her. The case remains a mystery.
