- Olanna disappeared in Nome, Alaska, on August 18, 1984. He lived in a nearby village called Brevig Mission. Nobody has seen or heard from him since.
Reuben Rock, who also lived in Brevig Mission, was arrested for Olanna’s murder. He was found guilty of a lesser charge – second-degree murder. Rock was the last person seen with Olanna, and the police think Rock stabbed Olanna to death during a fight.
Olanna’s body has never been found, but because of what happened, everyone believes he was murdered.
