Details of Disappearance:
On May 17, 1975, Wendy’s family went golfing, leaving her home alone in Media, Pennsylvania. She was sunbathing, then told a friend she was going to a store. The last anyone saw her, she was walking towards downtown Media around 3:05 PM. Police dogs followed her scent to a nearby intersection, but that was it – she disappeared without a trace.

Wendy was religious and planned to go to a church rehearsal that evening; her family said she wouldn’t have missed it. They wondered if she joined a religious group, but found no proof.

Later, two people – a man and a teenager – tried to extort $10,000 from Wendy’s parents, claiming they knew where she was. It was a fake; they were arrested, but had no information about Wendy.

Wendy was a good student, enjoyed the outdoors and music, and was involved in church and scouting. Despite investigations, her disappearance remains a mystery.
