- William disappeared from his parents’ large home in East Jordan, Michigan on June 16, 2006. He was staying there for the summer, though he usually lived alone in Hudsonville. No one heard from him again, and he wasn’t reported missing until September. His car was still at his parents’ house, and his bank accounts were untouched.
His mother had recently died, and his father died a few months later. William’s brother, Chuck, was arrested for his murder. Police think Chuck disposed of William’s body in a landfill. Chuck hadn’t worked in years, and William had threatened to kick him out of the house unless he got a job.
Evidence found at the parents’ house included blood. A sanitation company had cleaned out the house in July, removing furniture and trash. Investigators later found a bloodstained cushion from the house in a landfill – it was William’s blood.
Chuck was found guilty of murder and sentenced to prison. Because of all these suspicious circumstances, police believe William was murdered.
