- Matronia disappeared from her Laurel, Maryland apartment on January 1, 2000. No one has seen or heard from her since. Her aunt reported her missing in August of that year. Police searched her apartment and found everything she owned—her car, important papers, and credit cards—still there. Her money was also untouched. She was a retired phone company worker. Police think she might be in Florida or the Caribbean, but they haven’t found her, and the case is still a mystery.
