- Details of Disappearance:
- On February 16, 2014, a man named Butler was last seen driving on Highway 1 near Pacifica, California. He disappeared completely. The next day, his car was found empty on the side of the same highway, south of the Tom Lantos Tunnels (a place called Devil’s Slide).
Butler worked from home selling security systems. He was known as a friendly, outgoing person, and a really good hiker—he’d once hiked 50 miles along the coast by himself! He left his phone at home and had talked about wanting to disappear (“go off the grid”) before he vanished.
The police still don’t know what happened to him.
