- Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian female. Brown hair, brown eyes. Pendell-Williamson has tattoos of a yellow rose on her upper thigh or buttock, tribal bracelets around both biceps, and a light blue cat wearing a pearl necklace above her genital area. She has two bilateral scars on her inner forearms near her elbows, each about one and a half to two inches long, and a scar under her chin. Pendell-Williamson may be known as Bridget Pendell or Bridget Williamson. Some agencies spell her name “Bridgett” and list her hair color as blonde and her eye color as blue.
- Details of Disappearance:
- Pendell-Williamson disappeared while traveling with the Grateful Dead band. She was last seen around Capp Street in San Francisco in late 1996. Her family hasn’t heard from her since and are worried about her safety.
Before disappearing, she had a varied past: she was a former model and nurse, but had struggled with drug use and homelessness in the 1990s. She was arrested for prostitution in San Francisco in April 1997 but didn’t go to court. Friends last saw her around 1998 or 1999. She’s known to have traveled across the country (California, Vermont, Kansas, Oregon, New York, and Arizona).
She may have been homeless in San Francisco, possibly staying in various hotels and working as a prostitute. Her sister investigated her disappearance, even exploring the possibility that she was a homeless woman known as “The Crier,” but this was never confirmed. Sadly, Pendell-Williamson’s sister passed away before the case could be solved.
Police investigated a possible connection to Jack Bokin, a man imprisoned for attacking homeless prostitutes, but no evidence linked him to her disappearance. The case remains unsolved, and Santa Cruz police are still investigating.
