- Owens disappeared from Shawano, Wisconsin on November 2, 1998. She was last seen at a bus station buying a ticket to Green Bay. She might have been planning to go to Minnesota afterward. She had no luggage, maybe just a purse.
Nobody has heard from her since. Police searched her apartment and found a map of Minnesota and ads for apartments in Green Bay. Owens was a quiet person with few friends, but was close to her mother (who passed away in 2009). She liked to visit the library and the area around Green Bay Street. Her hobbies included horseback riding, making suncatchers, and wood carving.
There’s been no bank activity or use of her Social Security number since she vanished. The case is still a mystery.
