- Details of Disappearance:
- On February 1, 2009, in Ocklawaha, Florida, a man named Reynolds disappeared. He’d been watching the Super Bowl at a bar with a friend. After an argument with his friend’s ex-boyfriend, Reynolds left in his friend’s car. He later called to say the car broke down, and he’d wait for her at a dumpster near a Walmart. But when she arrived, he was gone. The car was found later.
Police think Reynolds might have fallen asleep in the dumpster and been taken away with the trash, but they couldn’t prove it.
Reynolds had a criminal record (burglary and child molestation) and was on parole, required to report to his mother daily, and shouldn’t have been driving. His disappearance is unusual for him, and his family fears he was harmed.
A few days later, a five-year-old girl, Haleigh Cummings, disappeared nearby. Because of Reynolds’s past and the timing, some people thought he might be connected, but police found no evidence linking the cases. Both disappearances remain mysteries.
