- Details of Disappearance:
- Brandt vanished on January 6, 1991, from his home in Temperance, Michigan. He hadn’t been seen or heard from since.
He’d moved to Michigan from New York for work, and stayed in touch with his ex-wife and daughters, as well as his mother (who reported him missing when his weekly calls stopped).
When police investigated his house, it was messy and things were missing. His black 1982 Chevy Blazer was also gone, but later found at the Toledo airport.
Police think a motorcycle gang was involved. Brandt was dating the girlfriend of a gang member and owed a gang member $30,000. He also secretly used drugs. Before he disappeared, someone left a black rose on his car – a known threat.
Even though police suspect the gang, no one has ever been charged with his disappearance, which remains a mystery.
