Details of Disappearance:
In 2008, college student Amy Walters was studying plants at the University of Wisconsin. She took a summer vacation to Oregon, then extended her trip to California, visiting friends in Eureka. She became interested in spirituality and environmentalism.

While in California, Amy’s contact with her family decreased, and she asked them for money. On November 12th, she was found naked and scared near Arcata, California, covered in scratches. She told police someone was after her, but wouldn’t explain what happened. Tests showed she wasn’t on drugs, so police took her to a hotel. She planned to return home.

Amy was last seen on November 14th at a copy shop getting new ID. Witnesses said she seemed anxious and secretive. She disappeared, and her belongings were later found at a spiritual center where she often left them.

A private investigator learned Amy had participated in an illegal “tea ceremony” involving ayahuasca, a drink that causes hallucinations. It’s unknown if this is connected to her disappearance. Amy’s sudden vanishing is out of character; she loved nature, worked on a farm, and taught fitness classes. Her case remains unsolved.
