- Claude and Martha Sue Shelton mysteriously vanished from Corbin, Kentucky on May 21, 1971. After putting their three kids to bed in their trailer, they left in their white 1967 Ford Galaxie 500 (license plate 937 944 – see photos). They might have been going to a nearby truck stop, but no one saw them. They were never seen again, and their car was never found. About $600 in cash also disappeared from their home. Claude had a good, steady job, so it’s very unlikely he and his wife would just leave their children. Their grandmother raised the children. Police suspect something bad happened to Claude and Martha Sue, but the case remains a mystery.
