Details of Disappearance:
Mark Herl vanished in March 2005. He lived in Oklahoma but was supposed to be in Tulsa for a job interview. Instead, he went camping in Kansas near Cedar Bluff Reservoir – the opposite direction. Other campers found him acting strangely.

Herl’s truck was found abandoned a few miles from the reservoir, a window broken. Inside were his belongings, including a torn note saying something bad happened and he wanted to change his life. While some thought it was a suicide note, police haven’t found any proof he’s dead.

After his disappearance, several cabins near the reservoir were broken into. Handwriting similar to Herl’s was found in one, but it’s not confirmed he was the culprit. A tent with strange letters addressed to Satan was also found nearby. Again, no proof it was Herl.

Before his disappearance, Herl’s job at a Kansas newspaper ended abruptly. He stopped showing up to work and was fired. A week later, the newspaper office was burglarized – someone knew the security code. His loved ones said his behavior had changed significantly before all this.

There’s a possible sighting of Herl in September 2005 in Lamar, Kansas. Police are investigating, but foul play hasn’t been ruled out, and they are worried about his safety. The case remains a mystery.
