- Details of Disappearance:
- On July 31, 1974, in Mesa, Arizona, sisters Cynthia and Jackie disappeared. They were walking to a friend’s house just three blocks from their home in the Desert Shores Mobile Home Park, last seen on Baseline Road near Power Road. They never came home and left all their belongings behind.
They’d left a note for their mom saying they were babysitting, but it turned out they were going to a party. Their dad had warned Cynthia about a teenage boy she might have wanted to meet that night. Police talked to people at the party, but some said the sisters were there, while others said they weren’t.
A few months later, their father died of cancer. The family had moved to the trailer park earlier that year so he could be closer to the hospital. Their mother said the girls were very close to their dad and wouldn’t have left him while he was sick. After his death, their mother remarried and moved to Kingman, Arizona in 1999.
Police think something bad happened to Cynthia and Jackie, but there’s not much evidence to help them solve the mystery.
