Details of Disappearance:
Deborah disappeared on May 3, 1977, in Townsend, Massachusetts. She told her parents she was biking to her grandparents’ campsite about four miles away and would be back. A friend walked part of the way with her, but Deborah went on alone. The friend was the last person to see her, near Turnpike Road.

Deborah’s bike – a brown 10-speed – was never found. Police later found a letter she’d written to a friend, saying she was upset and wanted to talk.

Police searched Walker Pond nearby, finding some clothes, buttons, and bike parts in 2004, but none of it was connected to Deborah. There’s been talk that she might have been pregnant, but there’s no proof.

Deborah’s parents think she was meeting someone, not just going to her grandparents, and that something bad happened. Her case is still unsolved, and some think she was abducted by someone she didn’t know. Her family still hopes she’ll be found.
