Details of Disappearance:
Debra disappeared from her home in Lebanon, Indiana, on August 29, 1981, around 11:00 a.m. She was last seen with her mom’s boyfriend, Steve Beebout. Debra left all her belongings behind, so it wasn’t like she ran away. Her mom didn’t report her missing until two days later.

Then, in 1983, Debra’s sister, Frances, was murdered. Frances was raped and shot, and police suspected Beebout. Because of Frances’s murder, police started to think Debra’s disappearance wasn’t a runaway case but a possible abduction and foul play.

Beebout died in 1989, but in 1999, DNA tests linked him to Frances’s murder. Police believe he killed Frances and think he might have been involved in Debra’s disappearance too, but Debra’s case is still unsolved.
