Jackee and Jennifer told the family Duke was in a mental hospital, but couldn’t prove it. Worried family members confronted Jackee and Jennifer on April 25th. A fight broke out, and Jennifer said, “It’s too late. He’s never coming back.”

The police were called. The family revealed Duke had been missing for weeks, and pointed out a disturbed area in the backyard. Jackee admitted Duke had been missing for a week, but she and Jennifer hadn’t reported it. Jackee was arrested for child neglect.

Further investigation led to Jackee and Jennifer being charged with Duke’s murder. Jackee confessed that she and Jennifer killed Duke on April 14th. They said he tried to smother Jennifer’s baby. They then suffocated him with plastic and cords, buried him in the backyard, and later moved his body to a dumpster because the family dogs were digging up the grave. Jennifer initially tried to blame Jackee, but later admitted her involvement.

Police found supporting evidence: security footage showed two people moving a large item in a wagon, and searches on Duke’s iPad for trash pickup times. They believe his body is in the Victorville Landfill, but it hasn’t been found despite a two-month search. Jackee and Jennifer are awaiting trial.
