Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Graying black hair, blue eyes. Dreher may spell his name “Dwane” or “Dwayne”. His face is slightly pockmarked.
Details of Disappearance:
Edward Dreher vanished from Mason City, Iowa. He was last seen on November 7, 1955, at 7:30 PM. Someone may have seen him walking towards Chicago the next day at noon. His car, a maroon 1950 Hudson, was found parked downtown near Willow Creek on November 10th. His things were still inside, and there was a parking ticket from November 8th. Police searched the creek, but didn’t find him.

Dreher was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving on ships, including some in the Soviet Union. He lived in Mason City, got married, had children, and then disappeared. After 1955, he never used his Social Security number or claimed any benefits. His oldest son searched for him his entire life, but Dreher’s disappearance remains a mystery.
