- On August 9, 1989, 70-year-old Faison disappeared from his home in Kenansville, North Carolina. That night, he was acting strangely, possibly due to alcohol and medication. He reported seeing teenagers in his car, but the police found nothing. Later, he vanished.
His hat was found in a neighbor’s yard, a whiskey mug in his carport, but his shoes were left at home—unusual, as he was afraid of snakes and always wore them. A neighbor saw him running, scared, and then saw a suspicious-looking tall, light-skinned man with a limp walking away. This man hasn’t been identified.
Initially, police thought Faison might have left voluntarily or wandered off, but his disappearance remains a mystery. His son suspects foul play. Faison was a veteran and worked as a carpenter. Despite his wife’s death in 1994, his sons continue to hope for answers. The case is still unsolved.
