- Details of Disappearance:
- On August 31, 1998, Tresp left her daughter’s home in Oklahoma and drove toward a religious retreat in New Mexico. She stopped for gas in Santa Rosa, New Mexico, around 3:00 p.m. Later that day, her car—a white 1997 Honda Civic with Arkansas plates 672-AOK—was found abandoned and stuck on a rock on a back road near Pecos, New Mexico. The car’s oil pan was cracked. It seems she left the car to get help, but nobody knows what happened to her after that. Her purse was gone, but everything else was in the car.
Her family, worried she hadn’t arrived at the retreat, searched for her in New Mexico, checking hospitals and putting up flyers. They reported her missing on September 8th. Tresp lived in Arkansas, was a devout Catholic who liked to travel, and while smart, sometimes got lost while driving. Despite extensive searches, she’s never been found, and her disappearance remains a mystery.
