Details of Disappearance:
Ricardo Murguia vanished from the Hollywood area of Los Angeles on July 24, 1986. He’s never been seen or heard from since.

He was carrying all his important stuff when he disappeared: wallet, ID, credit cards, keys (house, car, truck, motorcycle), and a comb. He might have also had chapstick and a bandana.

He was with a friend named Jose, who drove a dark blue, mid-size, four-door car. Neither Jose nor his car have ever been found, but Jose isn’t officially listed as missing.

A week before he disappeared, Murguia broke up with his girlfriend, but said he still loved her. Around the same time, a warrant was issued for his arrest for a felony—a woman died of a drug overdose at his house. That warrant is still active.

Police first thought he ran away, but now they’re investigating his disappearance as a possible murder.

Murguia grew up in Hollywood and went to Fairfax High School. He owned a juice stand and ran a moving company. He was a regular at local nightclubs and many people knew him. He lived near Santa Monica Boulevard and Genesee Street and loved riding his motorcycle. He also enjoyed eating at Thai restaurants.

His case remains a mystery.
