- Gerald and his son, Adagio, vanished after setting off on a sailing trip from near Nevada City, California, to Hawaii on June 2nd, 2018. They never reached Hawaii. A month later, Gerald’s body washed ashore on Goleta Beach, near where he’d started his journey. It wasn’t identified until spring 2021. Adagio is still missing. Police found no signs of a crime, and think they may have died at sea. However, Adagio’s mother believes he might still be alive and continues to search for him.
