Details of Disappearance:
In August 2007, MacCrossen disappeared. She last contacted her family from a Gainesville, Florida bus station. She had a very abusive boyfriend, Andrelo Lasuard Witcher, with a long criminal record including domestic violence, drug use, and sex offenses.

MacCrossen had previously fled to Michigan with injuries from Witcher’s abuse. She returned to Florida for a minor traffic ticket, calling her family from the bus station to say she arrived safely—this was the last time they heard from her. She never showed up for court and a warrant was issued.

Witcher was a violent and controlling person. MacCrossen had accused him of sexual assault, but the case was dropped because she wouldn’t cooperate. He had also held her captive at gunpoint.

Although there was no body or direct physical evidence, Witcher was charged with MacCrossen’s manslaughter in 2016 and convicted in 2018, receiving a 30-year sentence. The conviction relied on witness testimony about his threats and his history of violence against her.

Witcher is also a suspect in the disappearance of another woman, Kamrie Mitchell, in 2012. He threatened Mitchell shortly before her disappearance.

Because of the abuse and her disappearance, police suspect foul play in MacCrossen’s case. Her family is still searching for answers.
