On March 14, 2010, 10-year-old Ivy left her home in Poplar, Montana to walk four family dogs. She never came back. The dogs returned about 15-20 minutes later.

Investigators think Ivy fell through thin ice on the Missouri River. They found her footprints and the dogs’ footprints leading to a hole in the ice. It looks like she fell in, and the dogs couldn’t save her.

Ivy was a fifth-grader. She lived with her mom and grandparents. Even though her body was never found, her family believes she died and held a memorial service for her.
