Distinguishing Characteristics:
Distinguishing Characteristics Caucasian male. Brown hair, brown eyes. Furrer’s nickname is Jake. He has a tattoo on his left bicep of the Chinese symbol for “dragon” and a two-inch surgical scar on his knee. Furrer shaves his head and he may have a dark brown beard. He smokes a pipe. His shoe size is 12 or 13 but he was wearing size 10 boots at the time of his disappearance, and may limp as a result.
Details of Disappearance:
David Furrer was last seen at a Denny’s in Calexico, California on April 30, 2016. He’d been there with his mom, who left, and security cameras show him going to the restroom and then leaving. He texted his mom a happy birthday message the next morning, but that was the last anyone heard from him.

Before he disappeared, Furrer was a soldier (Army National Guard combat engineer), and also worked at a gun shop, a tactical gear store, and driving trucks at a mine. He’d been very upset after a friend died in 2015, and quit his jobs and gave away most of his stuff.

Because Calexico is right on the border of Mexico, police think he might have gone there. He could also be in Yuma, Arizona. His Facebook is inactive, and his phone is off. The El Centro police are still trying to find him.
