Details of Disappearance:
Angela, a baby girl, lived in Miami with her twin brother, two-year-old sister, her mother Marjorie, and Marjorie’s boyfriend. Marjorie’s two older kids lived with their dad, but visited on weekends. Although Angela’s dad was legally listed as Marjorie’s husband, Marjorie said her former boyfriend, Henry Mathieu, was Angela’s real father.

Child protective services (DCF) was supposed to be watching the family because Marjorie had a history of abuse (she once hit a child so badly they needed eye surgery). Starting around late 2014, Marjorie stopped bringing Angela to daycare and visits with her dad. The last time anyone confirmed seeing Angela was December 2014.

Despite numerous visits from DCF and reports of abuse in the home, no one noticed Angela was missing. A sheriff even checked the home in July 2015 and reported no problems. It wasn’t until July 2016 that anyone officially reported Angela missing.

By then, there were reports of neglect and abuse: a sister had been sexually abused, the apartment was disgusting and lacked food, and the older children were punished by being forced to sit outside.

When investigators asked Marjorie about Angela, she repeatedly lied, giving different stories about where Angela was. She eventually admitted Angela was dead, claiming she’d either dropped and killed her or that Angela died after falling from her arms and was then thrown in a dumpster. Her boyfriend denied involvement.

Even though investigators believe Angela is dead, there wasn’t enough evidence (no body, no witnesses) to charge anyone. Angela’s disappearance remains a mystery.
