- Details of Disappearance:
- Reed disappeared on November 29, 1998, from Zanesville, Ohio. He was helping his family set up a home entertainment system when he got a call and left, never to be seen again.
Three days later, his van was found in Newark, Ohio, with his white sweater inside. One of his roommates told Reed’s parents to report him missing the day after the van was discovered; this roommate was later arrested for drug charges.
Reed sold cocaine, and the police knew about it and planned to arrest him. Police think he may have been killed because of his drug dealing. His family says he was close to his mother and hid his drug activity from her. His mother noticed his apartment was cleaned after he vanished, and she believes he had $10,000 in cash on him. She thinks he was robbed and killed. Someone told her he was shot, but that’s unconfirmed.
Reed had a young daughter, and he was fighting for visitation rights. His disappearance is considered suspicious, and the case remains unsolved.
