Details of Disappearance:
In July 1998, Jonnie, a young woman living in Kodiak, Alaska, went missing. She was babysitting for a friend, Sharon Raikoglo, whose boyfriend, Roland Tennison, was with them. They were camping about 40 miles north of Kodiak.

Tennison said they went to get firewood around midnight. His truck got stuck, and they slept in it. When he woke up, Jonnie was gone. He said he thought she’d walked back to the campsite.

Police found no evidence of Jonnie at the campsite or near the truck, only fire marks in the sand but no firewood. There was no blood, semen, or drugs found. A coroner’s jury ruled her death was of undetermined causes.

Jonnie’s mom sued Raikoglo and Tennison, believing Tennison harmed Jonnie and that his story didn’t add up. Raikoglo was found responsible for Jonnie’s death, and Tennison was ordered to pay a large settlement, but neither was ever criminally charged. Tennison refused to answer questions about what happened.

Jonnie had recently dropped out of high school and was working to save money to live with her boyfriend, who was away at the time of her disappearance. Her disappearance remains a mystery.
