- Machic Zapil left Guatemala on June 20, 2018, hoping to reach the United States. He crossed the border into Texas on July 8th. He called his sister the very next day, sounding cheerful, to say he was in McAllen and heading to Houston. After that call, he disappeared completely. Very little is known about what happened to him.
