- Details of Disappearance:
- Juanita disappeared on December 14, 1998, in Boulder Creek, California, while walking to school. She was a popular high school senior who loved reading, baseball, dance, and acting.
At first, police thought she ran away, but now they believe she was murdered. They have a suspect, a former friend of Juanita’s who’s in jail for a different crime. This person allegedly confessed to killing Juanita to two other people.
Police searched for her body in the Santa Cruz Mountains but couldn’t find it. Because they don’t have her body as evidence, they can’t officially charge the suspect. Even so, they issued a death certificate, and a memorial service was held for her in 2003. Sadly, her disappearance remains a mystery.
