Details of Disappearance:
On November 8, 1986, in Midland, Texas, a woman named Gilkerson vanished. She left home for a volunteer job but never arrived. Two days later, her car was found, but she was gone.

Gilkerson was having an affair with David Alderink, who was on probation. The night before she disappeared, she told her husband she was leaving him and possibly moving in with Alderink; she thought she might be pregnant.

Alderink and his probation supervisor, Kenneth Parker, had a terrible plan: to kidnap women and sell them into prostitution in Mexico. Alderink gave Gilkerson to Parker in exchange for money.

Alderink said he and Parker kidnapped Gilkerson. Parker claimed he shot and burned her body. The police found a gun, but Gilkerson’s body was never found.

Alderink pleaded guilty to kidnapping and served his time. Parker was given two life sentences for kidnapping but claims he’s innocent. He could still face murder charges if more evidence is found. Gilkerson’s case remains unsolved.
