- Details of Disappearance:
- Karlie disappeared from her home in Chalfant, California on October 13, 2018. Her stepmother last saw her awake at 5:48 a.m., but when she woke up between 7:15 and 7:30 a.m., Karlie was gone. Nothing was broken into the house, and she left behind all her personal things—phone, glasses, and money.
Witnesses saw Karlie walking toward Highway 6. This is the last time anyone saw her.
The night before, Karlie had been out with friends and told her parents she’d smoked marijuana that she thought might have been laced. She seemed worried and scared. It’s possible the drugs affected her when she disappeared.
Karlie and her family had recently moved to Chalfant, and she had relatives in Nevada, a long way away. Her mom thinks Karlie might have overdosed, but her stepmother thinks she was taken.
Because there’s no evidence of a crime, police are investigating it as a missing person case.
