- On August 4, 2018, five people – four Polish tourists (Miernik, Janusz Intek, Robert Sieniawski, and Maria Teresa Libacka) and their American pilot, Craig Layson – took off from Talkeetna, Alaska, for a short sightseeing flight over Denali National Park. Their small plane, a single-engine Beaver, disappeared and was never found.
