Details of Disappearance:: Experienced mountain climber, Budlong, disappeared in September 1995 while climbing Mount Hood alone. He was taking a new route, and when he didn’t contact his family, they called for help. Searchers found his tent at a lower point on the mountain, but Budlong was gone. His gear was there, but he wasn’t wearing his helmet. Bad weather slowed the search. Even though he was a very experienced climber, investigators think he had an accident somewhere on the mountain, maybe on the Reid Glacier. Despite extensive searches, his body was never found.
