Distinguishing Characteristics Native American male. Black hair, brown eyes. Jacobs has a tattoo of a small cross on his upper left arm. His eyesight is extremely poor. He is a member of the Lumbee Indian tribe.
Details of Disappearance:
In March 2002, Jacobs, who lived in a group home in Fayetteville, North Carolina, disappeared. He was last seen around 5:00 p.m. getting into a small car near US 301. He’d left his home to walk to a nearby neighborhood, something he did regularly, even walking miles in any weather and sometimes accepting rides. He never returned home.

His family worried because the area he walked in was dangerous, and some of his friends were involved in criminal activity. They believed Jacobs, who had some mental challenges, was vulnerable and may have been taken advantage of.

Police searched extensively but found nothing. A possible sighting of Jacobs later that evening was never confirmed. Five months later, police said they believed Jacobs had been murdered, based on a tip from an informant who named possible suspects and said where his body might be. However, the body was never found, and no arrests were made. Police think Jacobs was likely robbed and attacked. His brother suspects a group of people were involved.

Jacobs was a happy, hardworking man who enjoyed Harley-Davidson motorcycles, KISS, and the Dallas Cowboys. Sadly, despite being declared legally dead, his case remains a mystery.
