- On April 24, 2014, Carlesha Stubbs’s brother dropped her off in Birmingham, Alabama, to meet a man who would fix her car brakes. She got into his burgundy Chrysler 200 and disappeared.
This man, an African-American man in his fifties, was someone she knew only casually from her job. They’d arranged the brake repair in exchange for her braiding his kids’ hair. Police think he’s important to the case but haven’t revealed his name.
Carlesha was never seen or heard from again. Police suspect foul play, and her case remains unsolved. She left behind two young children.
