- Details of Disappearance:
- Kersey, a high school senior, vanished on March 11, 1987, in Vancouver, Washington. She was walking home from school but never made it to her house, two miles away. Sometimes she got rides, but this time she was walking near Hearthwood Boulevard.
The next day, her schoolbooks were found in nearby woods. Police believe something bad happened to her.
They have two main suspects: One is in prison for life for killing a woman in a similar way nearby. The other is a child molester who lived close to Kersey and has since moved away.
Even though investigators are still looking into it, Kersey’s disappearance remains a mystery. Her mother has passed away, but her father and sister still hope to find out what happened to her.
