- On December 1, 1986, Thompson’s dad dropped her off at her home in Champaign, Illinois, around 4:00 p.m. She lived with her boyfriend. She vanished without a trace.
Her dad didn’t report her missing until December 9th, after her boyfriend told them he hadn’t seen her for several days. This was unusual, as Thompson kept in close contact with her family.
