Details of Disappearance:
On December 1, 1986, Thompson’s dad dropped her off at her home in Champaign, Illinois, around 4:00 p.m. She lived with her boyfriend. She vanished without a trace.

Her dad didn’t report her missing until December 9th, after her boyfriend told them he hadn’t seen her for several days. This was unusual, as Thompson kept in close contact with her family.

Thompson had a minor criminal record but was trying to improve her life. She planned to move to California and become a medical professional. Her loved ones are sure she wouldn’t have just disappeared.

She’d recently won a lawsuit, getting a settlement of $25,000-$35,000, which she was excited about. But she never collected the money and missed a meeting with her lawyer. She also left an uncashed medical expense check.

Before she disappeared, Thompson testified against two drug dealers. The police protected her during the trial and offered to help her move, but she declined. It’s unknown if this is connected to her disappearance, but police suspect foul play.
