- On May 29, 1996, April left her home in Montville, Connecticut, early in the morning. She snuck out through her brother’s window to meet up with friends. But she never came back. Her mom realized she was gone around 5:30 a.m. when she went to wake April for school. April’s bedroom window was open, and one of her stuffed animals was in her bed.
