Details of Disappearance:
Kiplyn disappeared from Spanish Fork High School in Utah on May 2, 1995. She was a sophomore. She attended classes and lunch, but never showed up for her afternoon classes. Her belongings were left in her locker. Although there were unconfirmed reports of her being seen in a car afterward, she never came home and was reported missing.

Initially, police treated it as a runaway case because she’d argued with her family and was young. But her family said this was unlike her; she was happy, about to get her driver’s license, and her sister was getting married.

Over time, suspicion turned to foul play. Rumors circulated about her body being in a nearby canyon, but it was never found. Four years later, her family held a memorial service.

In 2005, several of Kiplyn’s classmates – Scott Brunson, Garry Von Blackmore, Timmy Brent Olsen, Christopher Neal Jeppson, and David Rucker Leifson – were charged with perjury and lying to investigators. They all claimed to be hanging lights in the school auditorium when Kiplyn disappeared, but this alibi was proven false.

Several pleaded guilty to lying. Olsen was convicted of perjury and later charged with murder. He eventually pleaded guilty to manslaughter, admitting to witnessing another person kill Kiplyn with a rock and helping to hide her body. He refused to reveal the location of her remains or name his accomplice, who was one of the other men involved. Jeppson was also charged with murder but pleaded to a lesser charge and was released.

Authorities believe Kiplyn was murdered and that several people covered it up. Despite the convictions, Kiplyn’s body has never been found.
