- Details of Disappearance:
- Kristi Sharritt was last seen in Phenix City, Alabama in July 2014. Police visited her home that month and saw her and her husband, Jeffrey. Both then disappeared, but weren’t reported missing right away because they had a criminal history, and Jeffrey had warrants out for his arrest. They also weren’t close to their families, so it wasn’t unusual for them to go out of contact.
In September 2015, Jeffrey’s body was found in a wooded area near Salem, Alabama – about 20 miles from Phenix City. It wasn’t identified until June 2017, and he’d been shot. Only after Jeffrey’s death was discovered did Kristi’s family report her missing.
Police don’t know what happened to Kristi, but they want to find her to make sure she’s okay and to learn if she has any information about Jeffrey’s murder. The case is still unsolved, and police in Phenix City and Lee County are investigating.
