- James Powers lived in California but often went to Arizona for his mining business. He was last seen in Wickenburg, Arizona on April 9, 2007, and disappeared. His friends reported him missing in June 2007, and he was declared dead in 2012.
Anthony Richards, Powers’s business partner, was arrested in 2016. Richards was charged with many crimes, including stealing Powers’s gun, credit card, and using the credit card in multiple states after Powers vanished. Richards was the last person to see Powers. They were together in Arizona on the day Powers disappeared, visiting mining supply stores.
Police think Powers was murdered, but no one has been charged with his death. The case is still open.
