Details of Disappearance:
Lola disappeared from her home in Clarksboro, New Jersey on September 12, 1982. Her husband, George, told their children she ran off with $17,000 and a gun. She drove away in her sister’s red 1973 Chevrolet Nova (license plate 752RZD, VIN 1X17D3W289214), leaving her own nice car behind. Neither Lola nor the car has ever been found.

George didn’t report her missing; her sister did months later. Lola and George fought a lot, and she’d talked about leaving him. It was unusual for her to leave her two kids at home, especially the night before school started. She was very close to them.

George claimed Lola was having an affair. She *had* left him before, but always took the kids. This time, she left her dentures. George said she got new ones, but that’s unconfirmed.

Lola hasn’t used her driver’s license or social security number since. George divorced her for desertion, and she was declared legally dead in 1990. Police investigated around her house in 2004 but found nothing. They suspect foul play and believe she was likely murdered.
