- Light disappeared in Spring, Texas, on November 23, 1989. She was last seen around 2:00 a.m. after shopping for Thanksgiving and going out with friends. Her sister, Cynthia, came home later and found groceries unpacked and a turkey thawing, but Light was gone. An answering machine message claimed Light was in Mexico, but Cynthia didn’t believe it – the voice was wrong, and the caller used a nickname Cynthia never used. Cynthia thought it was strange Light would leave, especially before Thanksgiving.
Six years later, someone claimed Light’s boyfriend’s father bragged about her disappearance in a bar, saying she’d never be found. Two people heard this and told Cynthia, who informed the police, but the police report was lost, along with much of the case file. Police suspect foul play, but no one has been arrested. Light left behind a young daughter.
