Details of Disappearance:
In February 1981, a woman named Sanders was released from jail in Seattle. She made plans with a friend but canceled for a date. She was never seen again. Because Sanders worked as a prostitute, police suspected she might be a victim of the Green River Killer.

The Green River Killer was eventually identified as Gary Ridgway. He became a suspect in 1984 because witnesses saw him with some victims, and his truck was near where they were last seen. In 2001, DNA evidence linked Ridgway to three victims found in the Green River. More evidence, like bone fragments and bloodstains, was later found in his home. Ridgway had a history of soliciting prostitutes and violence against women.

Ridgway was charged with killing four women in 2001. In 2003, he surprisingly pleaded guilty to 48 murders to avoid the death penalty. He’s serving life in prison. Police believe he may be responsible for even more deaths. Sanders’ disappearance is considered suspicious because of the circumstances and her connection to the time and location of the Green River killings.
