Details of Disappearance:
On June 21, 2018, Jimenez-Rodriguez disappeared in Houston, Texas. After dropping her daughter off at a babysitter’s, she went home for her purse and gym bag, then left for work. Her brother saw her leave.

She worked as a paralegal and was usually at work early, but she didn’t show up. Her coworker received strange text messages from her phone: one said she was late due to traffic, another that the babysitter needed her to pick up her daughter. A final, unusual text at 6:18 PM claimed she was okay but was being followed by a red truck with two men. This message was unlike her usual texting style. The babysitter hadn’t actually contacted her.

The next day, her silver truck was found abandoned a short distance from her home, with her gym bag inside but her purse, keys, and phone missing.

Erik Fardell Arceneaux was charged with her murder in 2019. He claimed to be her boyfriend, but her family said he was just her personal trainer who became obsessed with her after she rejected him. Investigators believe he killed her, likely dismembering her body with a chainsaw (her remains haven’t been found). Arceneaux’s phone records place him with Jimenez-Rodriguez on the day she disappeared. Surveillance footage shows him buying a chainsaw and trash bags at a Home Depot, and blood was found in his home. He was also seen abandoning her truck on video. Arceneaux has a history of violence against women. He remains at large.

Because of the suspicious circumstances, including the strange texts, the abandoned truck, and Arceneaux’s behavior and history, police strongly suspect foul play.
